Laguna comenta a Ferrater la trobada que ha tingut a Bryn Mawr amb el seu fill Jaime. Li explica que ell i la seva esposa van estar a Chapell Hill en una trobada d'arqueòlegs i li parla de les novetats que s'han produït a Bryn Mawr i a la Universitat de Pennsilvània en la seva absència. Laguna es fa ressò de l'interès que, segons Ferrater, els estudiants espanyols tenen per la filosofia lingüística i reflexiona sobre aquest tipus de filosofia. Acaba la carta parlant-li d'un llibre d'assaigs que ha revisat i al qual donarà el nom d' "On Existence and the Human World"
