Novament instal·lat a Berkeley, Laguna escriu a Ferrater i li explica com ha estat l'arribada. El felicita perquè University of Califòrnia Press traduirà a l'anglès "El ser y la muerte" i expressa el seu desig de llegir-lo. Té molt d'interès en saber si s'hi tracta el problema del temps que, al seu parer, rep un tractament insatisfactori en Heidegger. Laguna li parla d'alguns amics comuns i li comenta que ja ha tancat el contacte amb Indiana Press perquè li reeditin "Speech: its Function and Development". Expressa la seva satisfacció pel fet que possiblement li publicaran el seu frustrat llibre "Individual and the Person"
