Laguna explica a Ferrater que ha enviat el manuscrit del seu llibre a Indiana Press i que la seva esposa encara treballa en el segon volum del seu estudi sobre les tribus Tlingit. Li comenta que darrerament ha estat llegint "Philosophical Problems of Space and Time" i detalla les tesis del llibre que troba més controvertides. Laguna relaciona aquest llibre amb el seu propi treball, que defensa que el problema de l'individu i de la temporalitat són interdependents ​
