Castro comenta la impressió que una conferència de Ferrater ha causat als estudiants de Princeton i li diu que no ho va fer bé perquè la conferència va crear confusió i ningú no la va entendre. Segons Castro, Ferrater hagués hagut de fer quelcom més didàctic i més adaptat a la idiosincràsia americana. El to va ser encertat, però no el tema. Castro l'anima a treballar més la literatura i a fer tot el possible per quedar-se a Bryn Mawr
